Public Hearing Bylaw 05.21 – A public hearing was held for the Edson West Area Structure Plan (Bylaw 05.21). This is a joint plan between Yellowhead County and the Town of Edson that provides a framework for future redistricting, subdivisions, and land development in Edson and Yellowhead County. The properties in this area are a mix of estate residential, natural areas, rural industrial, and business commercial/light industrial. No concerns were brought forward from members of the public during the hearing.

Appointment of New County CAO – Council appointed Luc Mercier to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) position for Yellowhead County. Mercier, who will start on April 5, 2021, has over 30 years of municipal experience that includes 19 years as a CAO for several municipalities.

Regional Waste Authority Budget – The 2021 operating and capital budget for the West Yellowhead Regional Waste Management Authority was adopted by Council. The regional landfill authority includes the municipalities of Hinton, Edson, Jasper, and Yellowhead County. The budget was reviewed and recommended by the regional landfill authority and is presented to all four councils for its formal adoption.
