Intermunicipal Committee – Council appointed Mayor Williams and Deputy Mayor Mitchell to the Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework Committees with the County’s six rural municipal neighbours. These frameworks are required by the Municipal Government Act to encourage municipal collaboration.

Ministerial Meeting – Yellowhead County will coordinate a meeting with Minister Dreeshen of Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors to discuss transportation and recreational infrastructure development in the Cadomin and Coal Branch areas and Highway 40 North, including highway improvements and promoting tourism in the area.

Joint Municipal Promotions – Council approved participation in an Alberta Focused Reception at the 2023 Federation of Canadian Municipalities Convention to promote Alberta municipalities at the convention. Yellowhead County will provide a video showcasing the county and $2,500 towards the initiative.

Roadway Classifications – A new Roadway Classification Design Standards was adopted by Council that updates the County’s roadway classification hierarchy. These are arterial, collector, local access, and industrial local and are consistent with federal, provincial, and municipal standards and design guidelines.
