Calling all artists in Yellowhead County!
We are seeking artists from across Yellowhead County to submit artwork proposals based on the 2023 wildfires and flooding that reflect the resiliency of our communities during the 2023 emergencies.
IMPORTANT: Artists do not submit a completed piece of artwork. Artists need to submit a short write-up explaining why they’re interested in the project, three samples of their past work, about themselves, and a brief proposal outlining what their intended piece would depict, including the medium and dimensions.
The proposal submissions, including examples of artwork and written proposal information, must be submitted by August 3, 2025.
Download, save and fill out the form and email it to risetogether@yhcounty.ca.
Full details of the submission requirements:
Artists must be a county resident (currently or at the time of the 2023 wildfires and floods), however, artists do not need to be from an area directly impacted by the 2023 wildfires and flooding as we are aiming to have a final piece from each region to show the solidarity of our residents across the county.
Pieces must be hang-ready- canvases should be wired, and paper-based art should be framed.
Each selected artist will receive a $1500 honorarium, and the municipality will retain ownership of the final artwork to display throughout County-owned facilities, and retain the rights to use the items in a book or any similar promotional materials.
Please contact Yellowhead County if you have any questions.
