The Co-operators, Servus Credit Union, Lobstick Literacy and Learning Society and Yellowhead County FCSS are offering a series of sessions with Chiile Muzongwe from The Co-operators facilitating:
Session one: Understanding the Emotions of Money and Budgeting – Tuesday, October 18 at 7:00 pm at the Evansburg Tipple Park Museum During this session we will help students understand their unique relationship/emotions concerning money and how this affects their ability to achieve their goals. We will then begin work on budgeting so we can help students find opportunities to save money for their goals.
Session two: Building a Habit of Saving – Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 pm at the Evansburg Tipple Park Museum During this session we will discuss the importance of savings and developing saving habits to help students build up their savings without severely affecting their standard of living or taking away from what they enjoy.
Session three: Building your Plan – Tuesday, November 1 at 7:00 pm at the Evansburg Heritage House During this session we will support students as they develop their personal financial plans . This will give students the confidence to achieve their goals, manage their debt, and prepare for emergencies. More importantly, it will help students begin to feel in control of their present and future goals.
Session four: Managing your Plan – Tuesday, November 8 at 7:00 pm at the Evansburg Heritage House During this session we will review students plans, discuss and work to resolve challenges they are facing, and share successes experienced. We will also discuss strategies to maintain and remain consistent with their plans and the lessons learned from previous sessions.
