Learn how to make your homes, farms, and acreages better prepared for wildfire season through our FireSmart™ Community Series.
Yellowhead County, AB (February 4, 2026) – The Yellowhead County Fire Department is holding a series of Wildfire Preparedness Community Open Houses this February and March. The initiative, in partnership with Alberta Forestry & Parks and FireSmart Alberta, offers the opportunity to talk to FireSmarting experts and get resources for increasing your property and community’s resiliency to wildfire.
The events are drop-in style from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the following dates and locations:
Evansburg Fire Station – February 17
Fulham Hall – February 19
Robb Hall – March 3
Overlander Lodge – March 5
“These Open Houses are a great way for people to get out and speak directly with experts in wildfire preparedness,” said YCFD Fire Chief Albert Bahri. “Everyone can contribute to building a prepared and resilient community and we’d be happy to show you how.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to enter giveaways to win a home sprinkler kit or a portable fire pit. Information on purchasing home sprinkler kits and booking a FireSmart assessment for your home will also be available.
Everyone is welcome to attend, so come out and learn, ask questions, and get FireSmart!
