Fire Permit Season Starts March 1

🔥 Wildfire Season in Alberta runs March 1 – October 31 🔥

If you’re planning to burn, here’s what you need to know 👇

With the exception of campfires, fire permits are required for burning in the Yellowhead County Fire Permit Area and the local Forest Protection Area.

Starting March 1, fire permits are required for any existing or new burning (except campfires), in the Edson Forest Protection Area and the Yellowhead County Fire Permit Area.

Fire permits help track what is burning on the landscape. If you’re burning without a fire permit or outside fire permit conditions, your fire is considered a wildfire.

Yellowhead County controls the Yellowhead County Fire Permit Area.

To request yours, contact Yellowhead County or your local Alberta Agriculture and Forestry Fire Protection Area office.
