There are nearly 500 crew members working to protect our community from wildfires at this time. They are approaching this from every angle possible.

These crews are doing backburns today and tomorrow to push back against various fingers of the fire and get unburnt timber out of the way. The risk of the fire moving in different directions is extreme at this time.

With these factors, we will not be reconsidering an end to the evacuation plan right now and it could be several more days.

This is a tough situation for everyone — especially for those who have left your homes and communities. All of us are in this together, and working hard to make sure everyone can come back to their homes as soon as possible once the situation is safe.
