2025 Agriculture Services Bursary Awards
Council approved awarding $500 Agriculture Services Bursaries to both Brock Gohmann and Abby Kennedy, following the recommendation of the Agricultural Services Board (ASB). Each year, two $500 bursaries are available to Yellowhead County residents pursuing post-secondary studies in agriculture or environmental fields.
Homelessness Task Force Society Letter Request
Council declined a request from the Edson & District Homelessness Task Force Society for a Letter of Support to accompany a grant application. As part of the motion, Council directed Administration to continue monitoring regional homelessness initiatives and gather data to inform a holistic review of homelessness impacts within Yellowhead County.
Road Closure Application
Council reviewed a road closure application for Road Plan 8920495, located in NW-10-53-15-W5M. After considering feedback from affected adjacent landowners, external organizations, government agencies, and County departments, Council voted not to give first reading to proposed Bylaw 07.25.
Wolf Lake and Elk River Gravel Contract Extension
Council voted to endorse the pre-determined extension rate of $27.00 per tonne for the 2024 Wolf Lake and Elk River gravel supply and placement contract. The existing 2024–2026 agreement with Associated Aggregates includes an option to extend into the 2027 budget year, pending mutual agreement between the County and the contractor.
