A Public Hearing was held for Bylaw 11.24 for redistricting a portion of NE-19-53-17-W5M from Rural District to Country Residential District. There were no public comments in opposition to the proposed bylaw. The bylaw will be brought back to a future council meeting for second and third reading.
Municipal Election 2025
Council appointed Tracy Parker as Returning Officer and Ashley Tompkins as Substitute Returning Officer for the Yellowhead County 2025 municipal election.
Bylaw 09.24
Council gave Bylaw 09.24, second and third reading to designate to a County owned lot in Brule (Plan 1022047 Block 6 Lot 3A) to a PUL.
Access Approach Management Policy
Access Approach Management Policy 3200.08 was adopted by Council. The policy provides guidelines and direction for the location and construction of new access approaches or improvements to existing access approaches in Yellowhead County.
Athabasca Ranch Road Transfer
Council approved the transfer of 3.9 km of RRD2383BM, north of Hinton, to Alberta Forestry and Parks’ as request. Alberta Forestry & Parks will manage and accept it in its current condition.
Grader Beat Awards
Council awarded the 2024 to 2027 grader beat contract for the Shiningbank Area to McPhee Construction Ltd ($214/hour to November 2025, $225/hour to November 2026, and $236/hour to November 2027). The Edson Northwest Area and the Edson/Wolf Creek Area were awarded to Noble Enterprises 2017 Ltd ($165/hour to November 2026, and $167/hour to November 2027). All contracts include an option for a two-year extension.
