Annual Assessment Update
Accurate Assessment Group provided Council with a summary of assessment related changes in Yellowhead County. The 2024 summary included details on residential, non-residential and farmland properties, along with designated industrial and specialty plant assessment.
Marlboro Sanitary & Water
Canadian Consulting Engineers presented options for the implementation of Marlboro Sanitary Collection and Water Distribution strategy. Council directed administration to proceed with the phased approach option and to bring it back to Council for future deliberation.
Community Futures Funding
Following a request from Community Futures West Yellowhead, Council voted to proceed with $10,000 in municipal funding to support the organization which provides regional support to local businesses.
Wildwood Arena Retrofit
Council approved increasing the Wildwood Complex Arena Ice Slab Retrofit project budgeted amount from $330,000 to $450,920 as the cost has exceeded the allocated budget amount. This is for the supply and installation of a new ice slab and piping and removal of the current slab and piping.
Tender Awards
Council awarded Tender 2024-832-01 Township Road 544 to Prairie North Construction in the amount of $1,652,556.68; Tender 2024-832-02 Range Road 144A to Johnson & Herbert Construction in the amount of $301,647.85 including the increase in the power line offset; and Tender 2024-848, Base & Pave for Township Road 542 to Border Paving in the amount of $8,084,112.50.
Mutual Aid Request
Council denied a request for a formal mutual aid agreement from the municipality of Alberta Beach.
Fortis Wildfire Mitigation
The Fortis Wildfire Mitigation Strategy report was accepted by Council as information.
Brule Rodeo Grounds
Council directed administration to bring the Brule Rodeo Grounds Lease Transfer item to a future Council meeting for deliberation.
