2025 Audited Financial Statement
Council adopted the 2025 Audited Financial Statement, presented by the external auditor Metrix Group LLP, and approved the allocation of annual surplus in the amount of $2,759,811 to the Restricted Fund – Tax Rate Stabilization in the 2026 Final Budget.
Yellowhead County Library Board Presentation
The Yellowhead County Library Board (YCLB) provided an update to Council, sharing their 2025 Plan of Service Survey Results and outlining their 2026-2031 Strategic Plan of Service. Council accepted the YCLB’s presentation as information.
Council Electronic Devices Policy
Council directed Administration to bring back the revised policy 1100.04 Council Electronic Devices to the April 28, 2026 Council meeting for further discussion.
Bylaw 06.26- Amending Committee Bylaw 10.24
Council directed Administration to bring back Bylaw 06.26 to a future Council meeting. This bylaw amends Bylaw 10.24, which establishes Council appointed committees and boards, with the proposed changes updating the bylaw to align with legislation, current practices, and Council instruction.
2024-862 Evansburg Rehabilitation Tender Award
Council awarded Tender 2024-862, Evansburg Street Improvement to Option Excavating Inc. in the amount of $6,145,201.00 plus GST. To cover the unbudgeted portion of the work, Council authorized the unbudgeted expenditure of $888,602.55 to be taken from the Restricted Surplus Fund – Infrastructure: Roads and Bridges.
Bylaw 05.26 – Road Closure application
A road closure application, to close a portion of Road Plan 5222LZ in SE-32-52-19-W5M, was denied by Council due to concerns for road maintenance, future access, and emergency access implications to the neighbouring property.
Bylaw 04.26 – Land Use Bylaw Update
Council gave First Reading to Bylaw 04.26 to amend Land Use Bylaw 02.24. Bylaw 04.26 proposes to add Data Processing Centre use, including general housekeeping updates, and to provide clarification. A public hearing has been scheduled for May 12, 2026.
FRIAA Grant for Sprinkler Deployment
Council approved the County’s Hamlets Sprinkler Deployment Plans supported by a $59,800 FRIAA grant. The grant will be included in the 2026 Final Budget for approval by Council.
Land Purchase Request for Evansburg Development
Council directed Administration to forward the land purchase request of Lot 32, Block 1, Plan 0627780 to the next Council meeting.
