Alberta Regulation 281/1998

Under the Tax Exemption Alberta Regulation 281/1998 qualifying charitable not for profit organizations have the ability to apply for tax exemption.

In order to verify your organization’s ability to qualify, please review the PDF copy of the Regulation on the Alberta King’s Printer website.  Submissions must be received prior to September 30, 2025 for the 2026 Tax Year, with final compliance by November 30, 2025.

For those organizations that have already qualified in prior years, letters have been issued as a reminder to have the completed applications filled out and returned.
