The Council of the Municipal District of Yellowhead recognizes the need to establish speed zones in areas where there is a high density of residential development and a concern for the safety of the travelling public and pedestrians. Residents may request for speed limit changes but must meet the requirements set out by the Speed Limits Bylaw and Establishing Speed Zones Policy.

In August 2022, Bylaw 14.22 to Amend Bylaw 18.21 was also passed.
