This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools\, as well as the survivors\, families\, and communities impacted.\n  \nThis National Day for Truth and Reconciliation\, Yellowhead County wants to encourage you to learn more about the rich and diverse cultures\, voices\, experiences\, and stories of the First Nations\, Inuit\, and Métis peoples.\n  \nYou can also recognize those impacted by wearing an Orange Shirt today\, in support of “Every Child Matters.” The orange shirt is a symbol of the stripping away of culture\, freedom\, and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations.
