On May 5, 2023, Yellowhead County extended the State of Local Emergency to all of Yellowhead County due to increased wildfires burning out of control, threatening multiple residences including the hamlets of Evansburg. Lobstick, Hansonville, and Wildwood and the expansion of evacuation orders in Yellowhead County. The public is advised that for the duration of the emergency, Yellowhead County may take any action it deems necessary to deal with the situation.

The State of Local Emergency was first declared on April 30, 2023 for the area of Wildwood and Evansburg due to multiple wildfires burning out of control that threatened multiple residences including the hamlet of Evansburg and the subdivision of Lobstick Resorts.
