Fire Permit Season 2021. Starts March 1.

Starting March 1, fire permits are required for any existing or new burning (except campfires), in the Edson Forest Protection Area and the Yellowhead County Fire Permit Area.

Fire permits help track what is burning on the landscape. If you’re burning without a fire permit or outside fire permit conditions, your fire is considered a wildfire.

Yellowhead County controls the Yellowhead County Fire Permit Area.
The Yellowhead County Fire Zone covers Evansburg and the surrounding area: Yellowhead County north of Hwy 16 starting from Highway 22 across to Yellowhead County’s eastern boundary at the Pembina River.

Contact Yellowhead County at 1-800-665-6030 to acquire fire permits for this area.

Alberta Wildfire controls the Edson Forest Protection Area. This area covers all of Yellowhead County except the Yellowhead County Fire Permit Area.
