Due to the dry conditions in the East of Yellowhead County, a Fire Ban has been issued until conditions improve with significant precipitation.

All current permits are cancelled and no fires are permitted. This includes campfires and cooking fires.No new permits will be issued until further notice.

The ban is a result of hot, dry, and windy conditions and current ongoing wildfires in Yellowhead County. Yellowhead County firefighting resources are fully engaged in fighting current fires

This Fire Ban is for the Yellowhead County Fire Area (east of Highway 22 to the Pembina River and north of Highway 16.)

This area is independent of the Edson Forest Area which is managed by Alberta Wildfire and covers the remaining area in Yellowhead County.
