Appointment of Agricultural Fieldmen
Council appointed Jennifer Benson as the Agricultural Fieldman for Yellowhead County which ensures that Yellowhead County is meeting the current standards set out in the Agriculture Services Board Act.
2025 Budget & Tax Rate
The 2025 Final Budget and Tax Rate was adopted by Council. The 2025 Final Budget of $280,343,390 includes the Yellowhead County municipal budget, the school taxes, and the Evergreens Senior’s Foundation taxes. There is no municipal tax rate increase in 2025 for the general municipal tax rates for Yellowhead County. The general municipal rates are 2.3755 for Residential & Farmland, and 6.1510 for Non-Residential (this does not include the school or senior tax rates).

FCSS Business Plan
The Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) 2026-2028 Business Plan was adopted by Council. The business plan outlines six overarching goals and priorities that emerged through extensive meetings and workshops by the FCSS board.
Delegation of YCE Tender Award Authority
Council approved the delegation of tender award authority to the CAO for the YCE Multiplex project, subject to the specified parameters outlined, to ensure the project remains on track.
Summer Gravel Program
Council awarded the 2025 Summer Gravel Program contract to McLeod Valley Sand & Gravel for $928,605.96. The tender is for the hauling and placing of 93,600 tonnes of owner-supplied crushed gravel for 344 km of roads in Yellowhead County. The awarded tender was the lowest tender that met the submission requirements.
Residential Lots in Evansburg
Yellowhead County, on Council’s direction, will proceed with the development of new residential lots in Evansburg. Cost savings can be achieved by combining the new Evansburg lot developments with the current Evansburg Street improvements for water and sewer.
Trans Mountain Road Standards Exemption Request
Following a request from Trans Mountain for an exception to the County’s 6% maximum grade for proposed road upgrades to a pipeline crossing on RR 185, Council directed Administration to bring back information regarding other possible options including lowering the pipeline or re-routing the road. Council and administration brought up various safety concerns for the current and proposed pipeline crossing location.
